Tasks and startup items
Flush DNS cache
Fixes sites that don't load after a network or DNS change. Needs your administrator password.
Free up purgeable memory
Clears inactive file cache in RAM. The effect is short-lived; macOS refills it as you work.
Reindex Spotlight
Rebuilds the search index when Spotlight misses files. Indexing runs for a while afterwards.
Rebuild Launch Services
Fixes duplicate entries in “Open With” and wrong default apps.
Thin Time Machine local snapshots
Removes local snapshots that hold space shown as “purgeable”. Backups on your backup drive are not affected.
Clear font caches and reset Quick Look
Fixes garbled or missing fonts (log out afterwards) and blank or outdated previews in Finder.
Speed up Mail
Compacts Mail's message index. Quit Mail first. Needs Full Disk Access.
Launch agents and daemons
Turn startup items off, back on, or remove them. Items that point to programs that no longer exist are marked Broken.

How Performance keeps your files safe
- Tasks that need administrator rights use the macOS password prompt. CleanLoupe never sees your password.
- A launch agent you remove goes to the Trash, so it can be put back.
- Each task says what it does and what to expect before you run it.
