“CleanLoupe can't be opened”
Version 1.0.0 is not yet notarized by Apple, so macOS may stop it the first time you open it. Upcoming releases will be notarized, and this warning will go away.

Check the checksum first
Run the command above. Only continue if the result matches the published SHA-256 exactly.
- 2
Try to open CleanLoupe once
Double-click it in Applications. When macOS shows the warning, click Done (or Cancel). Don't move it to the Trash.
- 3
Allow it in System Settings
Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, and click Open Anyway next to the message about CleanLoupe. Confirm with your password or Touch ID.
- 4
Open it again
From then on CleanLoupe opens normally. This approval applies to this one app only.
You never need to turn off Gatekeeper or any other macOS protection to use CleanLoupe. If the checksum doesn't match, delete the file and download it again from this page.
What to do first
Open CleanLoupe and press Smart Scan. It runs every module at once and shows how much is safe to clean right now. The Clean button removes only items marked Safe, and everything goes to the Trash first, so you can put it back from History.
